Picosure Tattoo Removal

Incredible Skin & Body is proud to offer rapid tattoo removal with revolutionary PicoSure ™ Laser. We are one of the first 32 in the world to offer the new PicoSure™ laser treatment for tattoo removal. Over 45 million Americans have tattoos. One in five want them removed or want to wipe the canvas clean for another tattoo.

About Picosure Tattoo Removal

Picosure is the first major technological advance in laser tattoo removal in 20 years, and here is why:

  • Much faster laser pulse (on the order of 1000 times) vs. previous Q-switched lasers
  • Much more thorough ink particle destruction
  • Improved & faster removal, even on difficult ink colors (including blues and greens)
  • Few treatments than traditional lasers are possible
  • Will usually clear even resistant (recalcitrant) tattoos that have stopped fading in response to other lasers
  • Reduced side effects

Picosure ™ uses a PressureWave ™ technology to provide greater disruption of the tattoo ink which provides better clearance with fewer treatments without injury to the surrounding skin. As the ink is fractured into smaller particles they are removed by the body’s immune system. The tattoo is faded gradually with each treatment. The tattoo pigment destruction is much more complete with Picosure than with standard YAG tattoo removal lasers, as in the above image.

WILL THE LASER TATTOO REMOVAL HURT?

The discomfort of laser tattoo removal is often described as a “rubber band snapping the skin” but can vary from patient to patient. We do our utmost to minimize any pain or discomfort possible. We use a high-strength topical numbing cream as well as a Zimmer Chiller (cold air blower) during the treatment to maintain your comfort.

HOW MUCH WILL LASER TATTOO REMOVAL COST?

During your consultation, we will measure your tattoo and make an estimate of the number of treatments needed to remove it. For very large tattoos, such as sleeves, per square inch pricing does not apply, and we will give you a custom price based on the complexity and size of the tattoo.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS DOES IT TAKE TO REMOVE A TATTOO?

Every tattoo responds differently due to a number of variables. There are variations in ink colors and their chemical compositions, depth and density of ink placement, skin type and individual immune system factors. Predicting how many treatments any particular tattoo will require is an educated guess. During your consultation, your clinician will make an estimate of the number of tattoo removal sessions needed to remove your tattoo. Please see our “before and after” pictures to see real examples of PicoSure clients.

HOW FREQUENTLY CAN I RETURN FOR MORE TREATMENTS?

Tattoo fading is a slow process and depends on participation by your body’s immune system to work. We recommend that you wait at least 6 weeks to get the greatest value from each laser treatment. As the tattoo gets very faded waiting longer periods is frequently recommended – usually every 8 weeks.

WHAT IS THE AFTERCARE LIKE?

During laser treatment, your tattoo may turn white briefly. It then swells somewhat and may turn red, but this usually lasts only a few hours. It is important to keep your tattoo covered with ointment and a bandage for the first day. Usually, it feels like a mild sunburn and does not hurt unless rubbed against. Between your treatments, it is important to keep the tattoo covered from the sun to prevent hyperpigmentation (darkening). You will receive detailed instructions during your appointment.

WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS?

The type of laser used for tattoo removal does not typically leave scars, although there is a small chance of this. You should inform your doctor or nurse practitioner if you have a tendency to form abnormal scars or keloids. Hyperpigmentation means a temporary darkening in the skin from inflammation caused by laser treatment. Hypopigmentation occurs occasionally in response to loss of melanin in the skin and is more common in darker skin types when treated with Picosure.

ARE THERE CONTRAINDICATIONS FOR PICOSURE?

At this time, PicoSure can only be used on Skin Types I-IV, not V (Black/ Afro Caribbean). PicoSure is not able to treat cosmetic tattoos (eyeliner and eyebrows).

What Our Customers Say

Dear Dr. Ebrahimi,For many years, I was hesitant to have surgery for my varicose veins. My previous doctor have explained to me the stripping procedure which required several days of staying in the hospital and associated significant pain and most importantly my inability to go back to work. After my recent referral from my family physician to see you, I learned about the very simple in office walk-in procedure that uses laser to close my abnormal veins. After having the procedure done by you which took just under 30 minutes …

What Our Customers Say

I had longstanding varicose veins but was not aware that the problems I had in my legs were related to the varicose vein problem. I did not suffer any leg pain, so I didn’t seek treatment until I was referred to Dr. Ebrahimi by my primary care doctor for an evaluation. He explained that swelling of the ankles and tired feelings in the legs were the result of varicose veins disease. He explained the laser surgery that was done just over 30 minutes in the office. The results were so …

What Our Customers Say

Prior to meeting with Dr Ebrahimi, I was suffering severe pain and difficulty walking long distances. With his excellent bedside manner, Dr Ebrahimi thoroughly explained the laser procedure in such detail and easy to understand language. This was performed in the office, under local anesthetics with minimal or any discomfort, and the whole procedure only took 25 minutes. Since my laser vein procedure, my pain is totally gone! Thanks Dr. Ebrahimi for excellent …
