The new Quanta MDK is a state-of-the-art laser and is safe and effective on all skin types. It provides the highest level of technology available for hair removal. Most areas usually require 6 treatments to remove the majority of the hair.
You are unique and the same can be said about your hair – there are multiple factors that go into your individualized plan for laser hair removal. The density, color, thickness of the shaft and the area being treated. Coarse dark hair will respond faster to treatments than fine lighter hair. The laser is unable to treat grey, blonde or red hair.
Each treatment treats the hair that is actively growing and thus timing of your appointments are essential.

Questions and Answers:
1) How many treatments are required usually?
The timing of treatment is of utmost importance. If the treatments are timed with the hair cycles usually growth 4 weeks for face, 6 weeks for body) then you can hope 6-8 treatments to remove almost all of the hair. Everyone is different, so it depends on your hair, your skin and your specific needs.
2) What can I do to help increase my chances of removing all the hair in the shortest amount of time?
Timing of appointments are key. Committing to five or six treatments at regular intervals will ensure the hair is destroyed. Also, you cannot tan or wax between treatments. Waxing or plucking will throw the cycle of hair growth off and we will now know when to time your visits.
3) What if I wax or pluck already?
First visit should be four weeks after your last waxing or plucking treatment.
4) What if I am tan?
It depends on your skin type, but usually you should not tan for 4 weeks before an appointment. Wearing sunblock everyday on your face is important if you are having that area treated. If you do your bikini and underarms, be sure to keep your underarms out of the sun and wear sunblock around the bikini area and cover with a towel. A sunscreen of 50 or higher is necessary.
5) What areas respond best to the laser?
The bikini and underarms do very well. The lower legs also. In areas where the hair is finer and lighter may require more visits. The upper lip and the thighs on women for example.
6) How about for men?
Most men have larger follicles and thus hair removal is easier from the stand point. Hair removal on men, depending on the area to be treated, can be dependent on hormone level s and density of the hair. The chest normally stops producing new hair follicles after the age of 28 so that area responds well if you are in your 30’s and older. The legs tend to respond well after the age of 18. Facial hair thins out very well on most men, but it may take a few extra treatments when treating a heavy beard. It’s all very individual and based on hormone balances within the individual patient.
